SUCSID Consortium’s Members Meeting in Kharkiv, Ukraine

On September  14th -18th, 2013 meeting of the SUCSID consortium’s members was held in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Objectives of the meeting were:

1. Development of the IDP courses.

2. Dissemination events: Opening of the Start-up Center “First Capital” and “Dissemination Workshops” in KhnUE, KNUCEA and NAMEK.

3. Review the work-plan and agree on adjustments.

The meeting was attended by 30 persons who presented PC and EU countries.

Three universities of Kharkiv were involved in holding the meeting: Kharkiv National University of Economics, Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering &Architecture, O. М. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv.

October, 15th meeting was held at Kharkiv National University of Economics. SUCSID consortium’s members participated in the opening of the regional interuniversity Start-up Center «FIRST CAPITAL». The opening ceremony was also attended by Deputy of Head of the City Council, by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Kharkiv City Council, members of SUCSID consortium partners,  IBM Ukraine, MICROSOFT Ukraine, The World Bank in Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Association “IT Ukraine”, business incubators and business clubs of Kharkiv, as well as start-up entrepreneurs, schoolchildren, high school and colleges academic staff, students and graduates.

Start-up Center «FIRST CAPITAL» is supported by Kharkiv City Council and Department of Family and Youth of Kharkiv City Council.

Moreover a number of events dedicated to the Start-up Center opening were held at Kharkiv National University of Economics:

1. Training «First Capital – first steps» for startup-teams.
2. Presentation of Start-up Center Partners: success stories and bright personality.
3. Round table “Entrepreneurs and business incubators of Kharkiv – European partners”.

Events on October 15 were attended by over 250 persons.

The meeting at Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering & Architecture was dedicated to developing of the teaching methodology for the IDP programme. The aim, main deliverables and activities of the WP2, as well as a course framework that takes into account European Standards, were presented to partners.

Besides, the content and structure of the course on “Entrepreneurship” and “Intellectual Property Law” were presented by EU partners. After that, existing syllabus, teaching materials, assessment regime and content specific of these courses for each partner country were discussed.

During the meeting at O. М. Beketov National University of Urban Economy in Kharkiv, EU and PC universities presented existing materials on “Innovation management” and “Leadership and Start-up team management”.

After discussion regarding the development of these courses and content specific for each country, responsible universities from EU and PC were appointed for each course and the collaboration methodology was developed.

In conclusion, tasks to be achieved for the next period were summarized.

Besides, during the meeting in KhNUE, KNUCEA and NAMEK worked dissemination points, where information materials about SUCSID project and Start-up Center were proposed for students.
