Round table “Support and Development of Innovative Entrepreneurship” was held by Comrat State University

The “new economy”, in contrast to the traditional economic system, focuses on two interrelated things: the transformation of knowledge into a commodity and the generation of new knowledge.  Agents of innovation policy in territorial aspect are regional innovation centers, incubators or technology parks.

TheInnovationCenteratComratStateUniversityinitiated the round table “Support and Development of Innovative Entrepreneurship” on April 17, 2014. The main partners of this event in the territory of the ATU Gagauzia were: Department of Economic Development ATO Gagauzia and the Chamber of Commerce of Gagauzia. The main topic of discussion was the development of innovative capacity and “smart specialization” in ATU Gagauzia.  To exchange additional ideas, representatives of the Organization for Development of Small and Medium Business (ODIMM), the Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer (AITT), National Agency for Rural Development (ACSA), and NGO “Center ProEvropa” attended.

Experts in the field of innovation (Dean of Agriculture- KSU Dr. S. Kara, Director of Vocational Schools and the Association of Wind Energy in Moldova N. Konstantinov, head of the innovative project andInnoCenterresident Anastasov S., etc.) discussed the main directions of development of innovation in the ATU Gagauzia.

The discussion identified potential areas of specialization for the Innovation Incubator “InnoCenter” based on research capacity and needs of the region: Agricultural Biotechnology, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (Agricultural Biotechnologies, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy)

A resolution was adopted based on the results of the round table and will be submitted to the regional authorities, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the region’s business community and partners Innovation and Education Cluster
