Presentation seminar “Innovative entrepreneurship support infrastructure. Cooperation between academia and business”

On May 28, 2014 the Administration of the Sovietsky district of Minsk (Belarus) hosted the presentation seminar “Innovative entrepreneurship support infrastructure. Cooperation between academia and business”. The event was organized by the Administration of the Sovietsky district of Minsk, Belarusian National Technical University, Science and Technology Park of BNTU “Polytechnic”.

Sovietky district of Minsk enjoys significant scientific, technological and industrial potential: a number of leading research and educational institutions, subjects of innovation infrastructure, large industrial entities, small and medium innovative enterprises are situated in the district. However, the district hasn’t employed the whole potential of academia-industry cooperation so far. Thus one of the main objectives of the seminar is to promote cooperation and implementation of joint projects between the academic and business sectors.

Within the framework of the meeting Vitaly Gmyrak, Managing Director of the Start-up Centre of BNTU “Ideas Come True”, delivered the presentation “Start-up Centre at BNTU – platform for implementation of innovative ideas of the youth”. In his presentation Vitaly Gmyrak dwelled on the activities of the Centre and emphasized that the Start-Up Centre can successfully serve as a platform for a constructive dialogue between the representatives of the educational institutions and business sector. It was also mentioned that fruitful cooperation with the local authorities, in this case – Sovietsky district of Minsk, plays the key role in ensuring sustainable development of the Start-Up Centre in future.

Overall, the seminar gathered representatives of around 60 organizations and colleges from Sovietsky district of Minsk, among which: JSC “Amkodor-Belvar”, JSC “Pharmec”, JSC “BioStarEngineering”, Scientific Industrial Enterprise “Bion”, JSC “Minsk Experimental Hardware Factory”, JSC “Belbiohim Group”, “Sensotronica” LLC, “NDT Engineering” LLC, “Elcom” LLC, UE “Technolit”, RUE “Nilogaz”, RUE “New Optoelectronic Technologies”, “Intellectual processors” LLC; Minsk State Radiotechnical College, Minsk State Technology College, Minsk State Construction Lyceum No.12 etc.
