Staff from InnoCenter KDU and Start -up Center of KDU took part in the international forum “Promoting the Knowledge Triangle in Moldova”
Current trends show an increasing role of institutions of higher education in knowledge and experience of socio-economic progress and environmental safety in the community. The purpose of the international forum “Promoting the Knowledge Triangle in Moldova”, held on 4-6 February 2015 at the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova in Chisinau, was to discuss the importance of promotion of the “Triangle of Knowledge”: research, education and innovation, with emphasis on the relationships between them.
The Forum was held within the framework of the project “SEETechnology”, and co-financed by “South Eastern Europe Program of the European Comission”, aimed at enhancing the impact of the research undertaken by the universities of the Republic of Moldova and strengthening their influence on the development of research and innovation policies at national and international levels. The discussion covered: aspects of innovation, covering not only the technology, but the whole innovation process, including the “pylons” innovations as: finance, human resources and the internationalization of innovation. The main focus of the discussions of the Forum focused on:
• The role of universities in education and training of scientific personnel;
• Enhancing partnerships with other universities, research institutes and enterprises, in order to increase the level of compliance with the needs of society;
• Policy framework conducive to the transformation and development of regional innovation and competitiveness of the economy as a whole, and of its regions, in particular.
The Forum brought together a large number of representatives from various national Universities, involved in the field of higher education and scientific research, including representatives from: the Council of Rectors, research organizations, public authorities, business representatives and young scientists and enterprise managers
Comrat State University introduced InnoCenter KDU and start-up Center “Center of youth Initiatives” KDU with the theme of the statement the InnoCentre of the KDU-as an example for practical implementation of innovations in the regional economy and the Department of Economics of KDU with the report “Doctoral education from a regional perspective of the Republic of Moldova”
“We have a small University, said Svetlana Genova,-one and a half thousand students, 200 staff, of which 30 teach the economic disciplines. They are engaged in consulting. This is mainly in the fields of management, business intelligence, marketing, where we talk about the new ways of thought. For example, you don’t need to create ”know-how”. You can upgrade an existing product and successfully enter the market with it. We provide information support and in the area of finance through the Department of Accounting and Auditing, located in our “Innovation Center KDU”. For advising and we are accountants, financiers, so when businesses request a consultation, the conversation can continue. Furthermore, thanks to the participation in the project TEMPUS-SUCSID, part of our professional tea was trained in the best universities in the European Union, and we are now actively piloting the IDP course within the framework of the Start-up Center “Center of Youth Initiative” with the most enterprising KDU students with promising business ideas.” “Inno-Centre” KDU does not exclude other options. We implement our projects not only with residents, but also work with other companies and potential angel investors.
Finally, Svetlana Genova said: “Cluster cooperation on the local territorial level (ATU of Gagauzia) is an important working network, which will unite us on the basis of a specific mission to identify and support innovation in business and support in the development of Start-up movement”
