Start up centre in KNUCEA – digest

The startup center “NewDevelopment” was created in KNUCEA by decision of scientific-methodological Council of the University on 23 October 2014. The basis of the team center was the working group of SUCSID in KNUCEA. The coordinator of the start-up center became associate Professor, Deputy Dean of mechanical an Mechanics and Technology Faculty Oleg Kulaenko.

The opening of the centre was preceded by a series of events aimed at disseminating information about the activities of the University within the project SUCSID. The reports were presented about the prospects in activity of the start-up center in KNUCEA during 4 scientific-methodological and scientific councils meetings of the University, and on February 26 2014 the main objectives of start-up movement was discussed at the plenary meeting of the scientific and methodological conference in the conference hall KNUCEA (Kharkov, Sumskaya str., 40).

Oleg Kolenko was also a member of several thematic workshops with a discussion of the prospects of the start-up center in KNUCEA and network SUCSID that became one of the main issues. In this context, it may be noted scientific seminar under the aegis of Kharkiv city Council “Woman in the political system of the European Union and current issues in gender education of Ukrainian youth”, which was held on 10 April 2014 at the Center for gender education in KNUCEA (Kharkiv city, 48b Artema str,). Also information about the project SUCSID and invitation for cooperation was made at one of the widest forums KNUCEA – seminar curators of the academic groups of the University, which took place on 18 November 2014 with the participation of more than 200 teachers-mentors.

One of the major theme was the promotion of student innovation forum “Day Erasmus in KNUCEA”, which was held on November 19, 2014 in the University auditorium.

Currently, the startup center “New Development has completed the pilot phase of introduction of educational courses developed in the framework of TEMPUS SUCSID project. In the pilot phase involved more than 40 students who represent the IT profession in the areas of “computer science” and “automation and computer integrated technologies”.

Students of KNUCEA participate in events organized by the network members SUCSID. In particular, the project e-University was presented at the “Forum of ideas” organized by the startup centre First Capital. On 27-29 April, 2015 the residents ‘projects “New Development” passed the crash tests. The team of experts proposed 6 projects in the field of IT, energy-saving technologies, innovative methods of processing of materials services. The best projects get more detailed study of residents groups and coaches of start-up center.

From 3 to 6 June in the framework of SEHUD project in KNUCEA was held a meeting of leading European architects. With report of necessity for monetization of infrastructure architectural designs were made by the Cambridge University Professor, architect Sebastian Macmillan. He also welcomed the interaction between practicing architects and start-up center “New Development”. This event is made possible to convey information about the center’s activities to a wider student audience.
